RABID IN THE KENNEL PRESENTS SLOAN

Sloan, the much-loved, longstanding power pop quartet from Halifax, Nova Scotia, stopped in at the Kennel Studio in East Williamsburg yesterday to join Jack Rabid for a Rabid In The Kennel session that will air on Monday, December 14th, at noon EST.

The hour-long show will feature not only an interview with Jack Rabid, publisher and editor of The Big Takeover magazine (set to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2010), but a sure-to-be-blistering live set with songs from the band’s new five-song EP, Hit & Run, released on November 23rd on the band’s new online store.

Now based in Toronto, the foursome, formed in 1991, is one of Canada’s most popular rock bands. Its 1994 album, Twice Removed, was twice named the “Best Canadian Album Of All Time” by the readers of Canadian music magazine Chart!

Rabid In The Kennel is a monthly Internet radio program hosted by Jack Rabid on BreakThruRadio.com.

Since launching in July 2009, RITK has hosted The Posies, TV Smith of the Adverts, Joe Pernice of Pernice Brothers, Miranda Lee Richards, Justin Sullivan of New Model Army, Lou Barlow, and Astrid Williamson.

RITK sessions feature exclusive performances and interviews with Jack and are recorded live, with no overdubs, at The Kennel Studio in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Rabid customizes each show around the artist, their catalogs, anecdotes and related bits that Jack pulls from his great vault of musical knowledge.

Photos, videos, artist bios, news of upcoming sessions and links to past shows are at the RITK web site.

Unsigned and indie bands are encouraged to apply to be considered for an RITK session.

Bands who apply to RITK frequently have their songs played Jack’s weekly show, “The Big Takeover on BreakThru Radio,” which airs every Monday at noon ET on BreakThruRadio.com
