Fitz And The Tantrums, celebrated LA-based soul outfit touted in the current “Hot List” issue of Rolling Stone magazine as the “hot band,” will lend their support and spirit to the protestors at Zuccotti Park for Occupy Wall Street on Thursday, November 10th at 11:30 am.

The band, who are slated to do a sold out headlining show at NYC’s Terminal 5 that evening, will perform stripped down versions of their songs, “Moneygrabber” and “Dear Mr. President,” appropriate selections from their current Pickin’ Up The Pieces album.

Despite palpable big show day activities, the band could not pass up the opportunity to lend their voice to this crucial effort.

Band frontman Fitz adds, “We wanted to show our support to the Occupy Wall Street protestors everywhere who are keeping the focus on the culture of greed that is pervasive in our financial institutions and the lack of reform and accountability that has taken place. We are not anti-capitalist but we are not in support of an untethered Wall Street without regulations and without the Glass-Steagall act that protected our society after the great depression up until the 1980’s. We Need Reform Now.”

In their hometown of Los Angeles protestors launched “Occupy LA” at City Hall in Downtown LA in solidarity of OWS. The Los Angeles protests have been ongoing for the past 35 days. The Occupy Wall Street effort, which has thus far succeeded in “changing the national conversation,” according to Reverend Al Sharpton, has been going on for nearly 60 days. Other, well-covered protests have been happening across the country.
