JULIE MCKEE DOESN’T DO LOVE SONGS, Fall Shows in New York and Chicago Confirmed

posted: 22 September 2008

Julie McKee is a true original. The fact that Julie doesn’t write love songs is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. She says of the loose commitment to forgo love torn lyrics,

“I didn’t set out not to write love songs. I just found there were so many other interesting things to write about. I wanted to explore other emotions, tell stories and comment on the things that were happening around me, and poke a bit of fun at a few characters we’ve all met while I was at it.”

The context of her forthcoming LP What A Woman Shouldn’t Do, released last June in the UK, (where she resides), to warm embraces from the British press, is living proof that one need not be broken-hearted to pen an inspired and compelling tune.
