about good cop

So, you wanna know a bit more about Good Cop Public Relations…

Well, your standard company profile is not really our thing. Makes sense, considering that we’re fairly non-traditional in our approach to a fairly non-traditional bag, such is this business of music.

But here goes nuthin,’ (I will refer to us in third person)...

It all started back in the summer of 2002, when veteran flack Perry Serpa left his former outlet of nearly a decade, Nasty Little Man (amicably — Hi, Steve!). Serpa resisted the temptation to seek out the oak desk, the bad hair, the gold medallions, the expense account (oh, the expense account) the Buy! Sell! Buy! of Corporate America and opted for a foolish midlife maintenance of integrity, spearheading Good Cop Public Relations.

Since its inception, Good Cop has made happy such esteemed musical clientele as Autechre, All Tomorrow’s Parties, American Music Club, Bumbershoot, David Poe, Mosquitos, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Gorkys Zygotic Mynci, Paul Weller, Jonathan Richman, Sonic Youth, Ron Sexsmith, Jay Farrar, Erin McKeown, The Divine Comedy, The Get Up Kids, Retisonic, Bitch and Animal, DrugMoney, April March, Dispatch, The Starlight Mints, and more. But it’s not just about music. The company is about culture. And not just pop culture. We’re turned on by the many facets of politics, art, literature, film, fashion and the like. Not to mention, the many synergies possible in this modern world.

The precinct now boasts a staff of full-time officers, all hungry, all proud.

So, there you have it. But if your need to know has not yet been fully quenched, please enjoy checking out our nifty website. It was put into action by one Jim Santo.

... And be careful out there.
